Güllaç With Almond
Different recipes regarding Güllaç being accustomed to be eaten with walnut.
Ingredients
• 1 liter of milk • 10 leaves of Güllaç • 500 grams of sugar • 100 grams of almond
Ingredients for top of the Güllaç
• 1/2 pomegranate(s) • 25 grams of pistachio
Recipe
1. Milk is heated until it dissolves the sugar completely 2. After the milk gets warm the Güllaç sheets are placed on a tray layers by layers and also by breaking if needed regarding to the tray’s shape. Each sheet is wet with the sweetened milk 3. Almond is put in the middle of the layers . 4. Remaining sugary milk is poured on Güllaç leaves . 5. After waiting at least four hours, upper side is decorated with pomegranate and pistachio.
Notes
• Milk should be warm. If it is hot, leaves are dissolved. If it is cold, both sugar is not dissolved and leaves cannot get soft easily and waiting period gets longer. • If faster process is desired to be realized, half of the milk is mixed and boiled with sugar. When remaining milk is added sugary milk is rapidly becomes warmer.
